The Adamson Soaring Falcons' new recruit Matthew Montebon has completed his residency year and will suit up in the upcoming UAAP season 86 men’s basketball tournament in September.
Montebon, a 20-year-old transfer from NCAA Division 3 Paul Smith College in New York posted incredible stats of 15 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds a game in his lone year before making the move to Adamson.
Standing at 5 foot 11 and weighing 200 lbs, Montebon could easily use his husky frame to bully smaller defenders on the court.
"I model my game like Stephen Curry, I shoot like him, try to copy all his moves on the court, and also wear his signature shoes."
With a 42 percent shooting percentage behind the arc, Montebon could very well be the Stephen Curry of the UAAP this year.
Coach Nash Racela spoke highly of his new young point guard as he strategizes a new plan to make another final-four run this year.
"He will be huge for us, he brings a lot to the table and is improving every day." Montebon is also joined by Flever Dignadice and Emmanuel Anabo in the new recruiting class.
