The Adamson University Dance Company made it to the podium after winning 2nd runner-up in Standard Ballroom Formation Dance Category, with the University of Santo Tomas as 1st runner-up and the University of the Philippines as the champion during the 85th Season of the UAAP Ballroom Dance Formation Competition on April 29, 2023, at the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion Arena.
Four universities participated in the competition: the University of Santo Tomas, the University of the Philippines, Adamson University, and Far Eastern University.
The competition was divided into three categories namely: Latin Ballroom Formation, Latin Mix Ballroom Formation, and the Standard Ballroom Formation.
Adamson University was the first performer in each category and produced a quality performance throughout the competition. In terms of music and dancing, all contestants did very well, which was very pleasing to the eyes of the audience.
Cheers were heard all over the arena as soon as their schools start performing. Drummers and yellers from each university were present, too, to hype up their team.
After the performances, the University of the Philippines topped all three categories by a landslide.
In the Latin Ballroom Formation, the FEU Dance Company won first runner-up, and the UST Sinag Ballroom Dance Company was second runner-up.
In the Latin Mix Ballroom Formation, UST-SBDC won as first runner-up, while the FEUDC won second runner-up
Lastly, in the Standard Ballroom Formation, UST-SBDC won the first runner-up, while AUDC finished the second runner-up.
After the said competition, AdU celebrated the achievements of the team since winning these kinds of competitions is not easy. It requires someone to be mentally and physically tough in every training session, plus the dedication they put in by carrying their school’s name on their back.
They may not have won in all categories, but Adamsonians know that they did their best in representing the whole Adamson community.
