Change of Pace From 101 to 102

I didn’t expect my first-semester experience to be polar opposites in terms of how I spent my
free time and who I spent my time with.
My first year started off very slow. First semester, I was looking to make friends as fast as I
could so that they could help me keep up, but I could only really connect with a few of them;
leaving me to be that shy, quiet kid who sits at the corner of the room with a solemn look on
his face, but of course, that's not who I actually am.
In the second semester, I was planning to take a change of pace. I wanted to just focus on
my studies and finish the academic year with an untouched slate.
During the second semester enrollment period, I was not able to enroll on time which caused
my slot in AMC-101 to be taken, making me an irregular student with AMC-102. At first I saw
this as an opportunity, but it's almost as if God wanted all my plans to go wrong.
I suddenly found myself making more friends than I did last semester. At Adamson
University, there’s barely a handful of communications students. In the first year, there’s
barely a teaspoon; soon enough I became friends, or at least associated, with all of them.
My plans for both semesters went in opposite directions and I guess I can say that I am
grateful for both outcomes. I learned to fend for myself and also connect with others. Now
instead of planning my college life, I look forward to all of the unexpected mishaps it has in
store for me.
