Adamson University holds a prayer vigil at SV facade to mourn the passing of
klasmeyt John Matthew Salilig on Wednesday evening, March 1. The vigil leads by Fr. Libin P. Varghese, CM Chaplain and a crowd of students from different courses joined to show sympathy and support on their fellow klasmeyt.
The students lit candles to cast light upon the darkest times and call for prayers, support, justice, and solidarity for John Matthew’s loss who were killed during the fraternity initiation rites. Marjorie Tabuena, a first year education student said, “Masarap sa pakiramdam na sumama or sumali sa vigil to seek justice and show support na’rin para matigil na yung frat-related violence.”
(Its such a good feeling joining the vigil to seek justice and also, to show support to end the frat-related violence). In a facebook post, the Adamson University Student Government encourage students
to wear black as a show of support and solidarity to mourn his loss.
In these trying times, Adamson community remains hopeful that justice will be served for John Matthew and encourage every Adamsonians to join only the recognized student organizations in the university which will be found in their official website.
