Filled with hype and excitement, HIMIG - Musicians of Adamson University successfully held an environmental drive through the Rakkalikasan - Jam for the Earth: Battle of the Bands at Saint Vincent Hall on April 29, 2023, where its primary goal is to spread awareness about preserving nature while showing Adamsonians’, especially the contestants, passion, and love for music.
Every six bands were to perform a 15-minute performance, with one song that talks about the environment.
In it, the first performer Jadwiga won first place, while Noah’s Ark and Viceroy won second and third place.
Guest bands from the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila named “Grp 3” and “We Prefer Chinitas” sang covers and some of their original songs at the event.
“Actually ang nga angas dahil ‘di ko akalaing magkakatotoo lahat ng mga delusyon ko (It [the experience] was fantastic since l can’t believe that all of my delusions came true,” Hans Soliven, Jadwiga’s lead vocalist, mentioned after winning the competition.
Aside from the entertainment given by the bands, it is also worth mentioning how the organizers planned the event very well.
The production setup was great, which set the mood in the venue. Food stalls were also made available at the venue to accommodate those audiences who got tired or hungry during the event.
This is why, from the program flow to the sound system, a high level of enjoyment would not be possible without their hard work and dedication.
As the event concluded, everyone was indeed thrilled by the experience brought by HIMIG– and they would surely want more in the future.
